The VAG standard valves have the major disadvantage that they can break in engines with a significant increase in power or with long mileage. The standard valves are hollow inside and sodium-cooled. With a very thin valve stem of only 6 mm, there is not much material left to protect the valve! The kit contains 12 valves. With 1mm oversize valves, the valve seat must be adapted. Ferrea is also used in major racing series such as Formula 1, Indy, Nascar and drag racing. We run this Ferrea valve kit successfully in our 1.8T test Golf. When installing a new three groove valve, we always recommend installing new OEM valve keys. This ensures that the valve is properly seated. If used wedges are used, they may have clogged, the valve will not seat correctly and will have play.
